How Software Stocks Just Made History

Gianni Di Poce caught something yesterday that barely registered anywhere else. Software outperformed semiconductors by the greatest margin in history.

That happened in a single session.

Gianni has been building an overweight allocation into software for months. Yesterday paid him off.

He’s already looking at the next rotation, and he’s walking through the whole framework live tomorrow.

Wednesday at 2 PM Eastern, Gianni opens the room for free. He shows the four conditions he checks in the Nasdaq every week, the full track record since launch with the losing trades included, and a brand new second way every Tech Timer pays.

One attendee leaves with $1,000 cash, drawn live. There’s no replay.

Now here’s what has him watching the Nasdaq this closely.

The index has done nothing since mid May. Four months of range, and the Bollinger Bands now sit at their narrowest reading going back years.

Gianni reads that as compression before expansion. A big move is coming.

He’s putting his focus on the communication sector.

XLC trades at the same price it did in the first week of September 2025. Gianni calls that a mega base, and the way he learned it, the bigger the base, the higher the space.

XLK has a four month base. XLC has a full year of one.

Meta and Google carry that fund. Meta is pushing toward its highest level since July while trading at the same price it held at the start of 2025.

Gianni sees it ripe for a squeeze. Google’s Bollinger Bands look just as tight as the Nasdaq’s.

The setup gets more interesting tomorrow. The Fed hikes 25 basis points, and Gianni says the day after Fed day matters more than Fed day itself.

Here’s what he walked through in tonight’s video:

  • Software outperformed semiconductors yesterday by the widest margin ever recorded. Gianni has been overweight software for months and expects the rotation to continue.
  • XLC sits at its first week of September 2025 price. Gianni calls it a mega base and rates it better positioned than XLK to lead the next leg.
  • Meta trades at its January 2025 price and is climbing toward its highest level since July. Gianni sees a big squeeze setting up in the name.
  • Crude oil pushed above 106 and energy leads every sector board. Gianni reads rising oil as a late stage signal for this rally, not a sell signal yet.
  • The Fed hikes tomorrow. Gianni is watching for a short squeeze in long term treasuries that flattens the yield curve and eventually inverts it.

Individual stock breadth is deteriorating. The Mag Seven and the Mag 10 keep holding the tape together.

Gianni thinks those names resume leadership, with the communication oriented ones out front.

He also mapped the bigger risk. Energy and technology ran neck and neck out of the 2020 lows, diverged in early 2022, and sit neck and neck again today.

If the Mag Seven run another 50% to 100% from here, Gianni sees that as the top. The serious drop arrives in 2028 or 2029.

Until the dollar explodes higher, he’s treating this as a rotation market. Friday’s options expiration will tell us plenty.
