Every options trader builds butterflies the same way.
You take the current price, build the trade around it, and hope the stock doesn’t move. That’s the standard butterfly. It works fine when you need stillness.
The problem is the overnight window isn’t about stillness. Stocks drift overnight. They press toward walls and the standard butterfly was never built for that.
I’ll tell you exactly what I did differently. Instead of building the butterfly around where the stock is, I built it around where the stock is going, out near the overnight wall.
When the stock drifts 1% into that zone, the trade doesn’t move 1%.
It moves 200%, and that’s not a rounding error.
That’s the whole point of why I built this trade, and it’s why nobody else built it first. I call it SuperFly.
The cost is small, $50 to $80 per position. The max loss is exactly what you put in, not a dollar more. If the stock drifts into the zone overnight, you’re getting back 2, 3, sometimes 4 times what you put in.
